While coming back from Hades we went through the
sweet-voiced Sirens. While standing tightly tied to the
ship's mast by my comrades, I heard their melodious
song which almost bewitched me. Then I felt a great
desire to come close to them so as to hear them and I
nodded to my men to untie the ropes. My comrades
yet, having their ears blocked with wax, were rowing
quickly just as Circe had advised us.
