COMPLEX OF GALERIUS
In the beginning of 4th century AD Caesar Galerius built a complex of buildings for his personal use, which became administrative and religious center of Thessaloniki. This complex was covering an area of 150.000 square meters from Rotunda to the sea and it is situated in Navarinou square. It included Rotunda, Galerius Arch (Kamara), the Palace, the Octagon, and the Circus. At 1957 it was found an arch where Galerius was represented. In the Palace there were found many mosaic floors. Probably the Palace was destroyed at the 8th century’s earthquake.
