In the English lesson
A bend in the road is not the end of the road
Our student, Katerina Papageorgiou β2, made us feel very happy and really spread joy when she won third prize at the Creative Writing Competition, producing this fantastic poem:
A bend is a bend A road is a road Is the bend in the road The end of the road?
Slowly walking Never talking Looking here And looking there
I wonder and wander And wander and wonder As I question the end Is it after the bend?
Keep the feet moving Not that it’ s soothing Front feet and back feet Neck out searching
However, the raindrops smell So fresh and inviting I cannot stop writing Raindrops, any round the bend?
Thunder and lightning Like fireworks frightening How can I escape from any debate Ecology Biodiversity, all a controversy
A road without a bend I will always defend Life without bends Can never be the end
I reached the end I turned the bend The bend didn’ t end End end end …
If the bend is the end or the end is the bend? By Toddy the tortoise

How many days And how many ways Will it take me to see
Bees buzzing Birds chirping Sun shining moon lighting The bend at the end
Oh dear me, dear me The weather is here No umbrella to cover My shell from whatever
