EDITORS
“The Revolution Issue" How often do we see two worlds emerging into one? Two opposites working together
for the better? We live in a time where the system/society/system of society is built into
categories, labels and fixed groups with definitions that are rarely blurred. In past times
this system has in large, glorified the logic, linear and regulatory way of thinking. The
counterpart of this rational concept that has and is an ever existing entity has in many
ways been left to the side. Often it is this side where innovative new ideas happen but
after the engine has started running that is forgotten in favour of the structure. We can
see this division even in ourselves. The human brain is divided into two hemispheres, the
left one and the right one. The left side takes care of the logical and analytical aspects of
our thinking, where the right brain is behind creativity, senses and imaginations. We see
the left side being favoured for example in educational institutions where exams do not
measure an all around talent, but focus on training and felicitating the analytical intaking
of information and how accurately it is reproduced. How often are individuals that do not
act in a linear way are considered to be failing in life? In this second issue of Osmosis we
want to hand limelight to the right hemisphere. The side of our brain responsible for passion, roaring laughter, taste and movement. We have filled the pages of this issue with
individuals who cross boundaries, and innovations that approach familiar things with a
new lens or different avenues. We  feature makeup and hairdressing as art rather than
beauty, portraying traditional religious iconography on a commercial scale, photography
of familiar objects seen in a new detailed light. We hope as always we can leave you inspired to create your own ideas, perspectives and innovations. To embrace the disorder
and shake-up the familiar rising to a balance of the two sides into a symbiosis where
both are needed for victory/advancement.
