WINNERS & LOSERS Pippa Middleton obtains injunction over hacked iCloud photos In September, Pippa Middleton and her fiancé James Matthews succeeded in obtaining an injunction to prevent the sale or publication of photographs and other information from her hacked iCloud account. Middleton found out that photos from the account were being offered for sale by an unknown person via WhatsApp when she was informed by the Sun newspaper. The photographs had also been offered to the Daily Mail. The hacked photographs are said to include photographs of Middleton’s nephew and niece, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. A 35-year-old man, Nathan Wyatt, was arrested on suspicion of an offence under the Computer Misuse Act over the hack, and he was represented at the injunction hearing. Middleton’s barrister told the court the hack had caused her ‘considerable distress’. Hacking an iCloud account and offering private photographs for sale is unlawful, including as a misuse of private information. zoom-in Autumn 2016 | 3
