teacher, but it’s cliché for a reason. Creating that allimportant bond should start even before the first day of school by setting up a brief appointment for you and your child to meet her new teacher. Now, I don’t suggest buttering up your child’s teacher with croissants from your favorite bakery (though that wouldn’t necessarily hurt) or sacrificing your dignity in any way. You don’t have to stoop to outright brownnosing, but it is in your child’s best interest to keep the “teach sweet.” Too many parent-teacher relationships have soured before the end of the year. As parents, we strive for that delicate balance of being friendly without becoming a pain in the asteroid.
