s parents or caretakers, we sometimes tend to put our own wants,
needs and desires last. Let’s face
it: there are only so many hours
in a day, and most of them we spend affectionately devoted to our loved ones.
Being Mom, Dad, Teacher or Caretaker
requires so much juggling, flexibility,
creativity and selflessness that it is natural
to feel overwhelmed and off balance at
times. This is what this section of ZOOM
is all about. In each issue we will give you
quick ideas and tips to help you find your
balance and to remind you that it is not
only okay to take “me time” but also essential that you do it.
Perhaps it has been so long since you have
done something for yourself that you
don’t have a clue as to what to do. That’s
okay. Rome was not built in a day, you
know. Eventually you will learn how to
slow down, say “NO” once in a while and
listen to what your body and heart are trying to tell you. You may even learn how to
relax and enjoy the moment. But until you
get there, maybe you can try what some
of our ZOOM readers are doing for themselves.
