teacher, but it’s cliché for a
reason. Creating that allimportant bond should
start even before the first
day of school by setting
up a brief appointment for
you and your child to meet
her new teacher. Now, I
don’t suggest buttering up
your child’s teacher with
croissants from your favorite bakery (though that
wouldn’t necessarily hurt)
or sacrificing your dignity
in any way. You don’t have
to stoop to outright brownnosing, but it is in your
child’s best interest to keep
the “teach sweet.” Too
many parent-teacher relationships have soured before the end of the year. As
parents, we strive for that
delicate balance of being
friendly without becoming
a pain in the asteroid.
