WELCOME
PAUL
MIKE
Well folks we are back again with another huge bumper
issue as per-usual! With lots n lots going on in the world of
Zone & the Electronic music scene, both in Ireland &
internationally we tried to capture as much as we can for
you to feast your beats on!
In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to the
Italian legend that is Mauro Picotto, the first Italian DJ to
tour the world putting his homeland on the global techno
map spills the beans on his life and career so far. Up next
with the Hot shot Indian dynamo Arjun Vagale, who has
been pushing his sound for many years, dubbed "Indian's
flagship export" and "one of the most respected modern
techno pioneers" reveals the secrets to his huge worldwide
success. We have words with UK underground garage
producer Ed Case who’s remixed for the likes of the
Gorrilaz, and we also chat to one of Irelands upcoming and
busiest female artists Emma Jai who gives us a rundown on
how it all started, and what’s been happening with her
career over the last few years. Smiley faces, TB 303’s,
illegal Raves, this guy was there at the beginning,
Egebamyasi, from Scotland one of the "founding fathers of
UK Acid House", talks to us about the madness of it all back
in the day! Mike Mannix chews the phat with this month’s
centrefold non other than The Utah Saints who have had a
string of UK top ten hits and have enjoyed a massive global
presence since the 1990's. The very capable Mr. Jerry
Coughlan brings us our Ibiza Report 2015 and we also
clock up some artists All-time top ten.
As if all that was not enough, we have lots more artist’s
interviews, and a new spitting it real section from the one
and only Lee Softley AKA Blue Amazon, with his "Spits &
Spats" talking about anything & everything to do with
Dance Music, you been warned!
We will of course have our regular columns from the
talented and dynamic Zone crew; Declan McComiskey AKA
Spooky, who will be delivering on his 20 years’ experience
as a Mixing Engineer & Producer on all things techy in the
studio, with his "A1-2 Audio Blog". Barry O’Brien aka OB
who will be writing and vibing about the Irish and
international bass heavy reggae vibrations, in his ‘Bazza’s
Ragga Stack’ column. Next on the list is top man Steph
Fagan AKA ‘Jenko’ who’ll be covering all the old school
classics from the late 80's to the early 90's in his "Retro
review". The very talented journalist Adrienne Murphy who
is delivering the hard hitting stories in her ‘Re al World’
Column. We have our regular reports from Germany, Miami,
with along with the regular charts, reviews, and all things
that beat.
As usual we would like to thank all of our very many
talented contributors and friends who provide so much
content, love and support for what we are doing, they are
listed on the left hand column on this page if you want to
contact them directly with the latest scoops.
From Mike and myself and the whole Zone crew, we just
wanted to say thanks again for your continued support, and
nice one for reading and feeling our quality Mag, peace.
Paul & Mike.
