Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) are used in the internal combustion engines, which is a
technique that helps in reducing the emissions caused due to diesel and petrol or
gasoline engines. Exhaust gas recirculation functions by recirculating the part of the
engine's exhaust back to the engine cylinders. In a case of the diesel engines, the
exhaust gas changes the parts of the oxygen that are excess in the mixture of pre-
combustion. The combusts of the fuel mixture causes clatter of the valves which
damages the engine. By allowing in the chamber small amounts of gas the temperature
is reduced.
