antigen skin test is used. The test is mainly performed so that the immune systems can be
tested against the antigens. If a person is hypersensitive towards exogenous or
endogenous antigens the antigen skin test detects it. With the help of the needle, an antigen
is injected into the outer layer of the skin. This procedure is usually done on the forearm and
very little amount of antigen is injected. The site where the antigen is injected is labeled and
a lump is formed at that part. Due to the presence of the antigen, the immune system starts
reacting and skin turns reddish.
