In 2016, CCSDP managed to secure financial support from the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) to buy the required machinery for the extraction of oil from groundnuts and sunflower. CCSDP says setting up the social enterprise business has had its challenges which include low oil content due to the use of recycled seed and poor production methods by smallholder women farmers, limited business management capacity and lack of proper processing related equipment. Low raw material supply, limited storage facility and lack of utility transport has seen the business progressing at a slow pace as well.

Despite all the challenges CCSDP hopes to have a viable social enterprise that can see them financially sponsoring the education of the under privileged children in community schools, providing educational materials in community schools and advocating for increased government funding to community schools.
