Tigwepo - October 2017 5

As part of our overall support towards CSOs, with Sida’s support, we have provided different aspects of capacity development support over the last 8 years. This support has ranged from conducting around 180 trainings in different topics of relevance to CSOs, benefitting over 2,500 participants, to developing 10 comprehensive toolkits that CSOs can use for their work. developed over this period are as follows:

• Policy engagement and influencing training toolkit

• Monitoring and evaluation training toolkit: An introductory guide to monitoring and evaluating civil society influencing initiatives

• Building the evidence to inform policy: A guide to policy-relevant research

• Gender mainstreaming toolkit for civil society organisations in Zambia (Workplace, Volume I)

• Gender mainstreaming toolkit for civil society organisations in Zambia (Programmes, Volume II)

• Social media for social change, crowdmaps: A participatory tool for change

• Social media for social change, crowdmaps: Administering a constituency watch space

• Active citizens’ toolkit

• Becoming an environmentally friendly CSO

• Disability Equality toolkit

All these achievements would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Sida and other cooperating partners, who have all played their part to make ZGF what it is today.

Hence, as we come to the end of our partnership with Sida, we can look back with pride over the last 8 years, knowing that this has been a partnership that has made a real difference in the civil society landscape in Zambia, and by implication in the lives of Zambian citizens across all 10 provinces. It has been a partnership worth celebrating, and ZGF is indebted to Sida for standing by us all these years.
