Letter from the President 2013 was a fantastic year for Zeta chapter. We initiated a class of 18, the largest of all fraternities on campus, building off of the class of 12 i n i t i a te d t h e ye a r before which included myself. This represents a level of sustained growth the chapter has not experienced for more than a decade. However, there are reasons to believe that 2014 will be even better. The first is a burgeoning level of cooperation between Zeta Alumni Corporation and the active chapter. ZAC president Jesse Schaefle and I have been communicating weekly about ways to realize the chapter’s untapped potential. This communication is beginning to form into observable outputs that will work to make Zeta chapter a more efficient organization. It cannot be overstated how much the active chapter needs the continued support of ZAC. We are extremely thankful for our positive relationship and hope that it continues in the future. A second reason involves some of our newer officers: Alec Harkins and Chan Tov. Alec is our philanthropy chair. He has done a superb job of researching, planning, and executing philanthropic events. In November, we partnered with Children Deserve a Chance Foundation, a non profit in Lancaster for the Extraordinary Give, an event sponsored by the Lancaster County Community Hello, my name is Hunter Citrin and I am the Vice President of the Zeta Chapter. I am currently sophomore at F&M. Along with being Beta I am also the president of the club water polo team and The New Member Recruitment Chair for F&M’s InterFraternity Council. I am a public health major with an environmental studies minor. At the beginning of my term I set forth with many goals that I wished to accomplish by the end of the year. Namely, I wanted to see an increased effort in philanthropy and academics. So far, we have raised over $2000 through philanthropy efforts, and we will be sponsoring three more events this semester. We are looking to hike our service hours to more than 32 hours per brother. Foundation. CDCF works with inner-city and firstgeneration college bound students to prepare them for life as a college student. Overall, CDCF raised $59,424 for the event, of which the chapter raised $2,100. I am grateful to have Alec and I expect more successful events to be conducted in 2014. Chan Tov is our social and alumni relations chair. Chan is an extremely well organized and motivated individual who is passionate about event planning. He “Join us as we embark h a s d o n e a n on a new year filled with extremely good job promise. You will not be organizing social disappointed.” events this year. Our winter formal was fantastic and that was due in large part to his planning and organization. In addition, this bi-annual newsletter is Chan’s brainchild. It is meant as a way to inform alumni of the events we are planning and conducting, as well as a way to get to know active brothers through individual profiles. I am confident that Chan will continue this fantastic level of performance in 2014. I am convinced that the current active brotherhood is capable of amazing things. It is unlocking the potential that will define 2014 for the chapter. So join us as we embark on a new year filled with promise. You will not be disappointed. ! Sincerely, Alex Rossello ‘15 President, Zeta Chapter Phi Kappa Sigma   Letter from the VP We have started work on the Zeta Library; an effort to digitize notes and collect textbooks to lower the financial burden of spending hundreds of dollars each semester. This library will take a lot of time and effort, but its completion will increase the academic welfare of the chapter. Our brothers are extremely active on campus. With just over 30 active brothers, Zeta Chapter has four club presidents, nine campus employees, three varsity and eight club athletes, and involvement in over 25 teams and organizations on campus. The work and dedication of this brotherhood this year has been outstanding and I’m proud to be a Phi Kap because of it.
