Instead of joy and happiness

Comes pain and suffering.

The changes are first in flesh

Shadows cast across the skin.

Then as you slowly lose your fight

You spirit soars free

Now you are a whisper in the wind

A breath in the stillest of nights.

A champion for those left behind

A symbol of hope and courage

A dream of a better place

All these thing you are and were

And so much more you be

But one constant shall remain

You are my child and me.
