While EPS whose thermal conductivity is 0.036W/m∙K should be used as thick as 240mm, Enervac
which is a kind of a vacuum insulation panel whose core material is fumed silica can be used as thick
as 30mm as an insulation for Passive Houses. From Table 2 and Figure 6, we can guess that Low‐E
Insulation has the same insulating performance as Aerogel.
According to the recent test reports from an accredited laboratory designated by the Korean
government, the thermal transmittance of wall assembly with 150mm concrete + 100mm Low‐E
Insulation + 40mm air space + 4mm Al. Panel (or 30mm granite or 90mm brick) was 0.12W/m2∙K [6].

3.2.1. Constitution of Incombustible Vacuum Insulation Panel
Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP) consists of a special envelope (Envelope), core material (Core
Material), and an adsorbent (Getter) that adsorbs the air and moisture inside the insulation material
and is a vacuumed product inside to maximize insulation performance. Thin aluminum film is mainly
used as the film material of VIP which is an important material that determines the life and reliability
of the VIP [7].
