2.1. Background and Prupose of Establishment
The background of the establishment of the Healthy Life Support Center recognizes the limitations
of the health promotion business through the direct provision of existing medical services and induces
the health promotion through the participation of local residents and cooperation of local resources
based on the needs and demands of the community. It is a regional health facility specialized in the
health promotion function centered on small living area that supports healthy life, and it is due to the
necessity of shifting the paradigm to preventive health promotion through horizontal connection with
treatment‐oriented private medical institutions [2].
2.2. Status and Case Project Selection
As of 2018, 50 Healthy Life Support Centers nationwide are operating except 16 planned or under
construction. In detail, there are 33 new construction projects and 17 renovations. The number of floors
of the Health Life Support Center was from 15 centers on the first floor, 18 centers on the second floor,
15 centers on the third floor, 2 centers on the fourth floor, with an average utilization area of 862.91 ㎡.
3. Methodology: Space Proximity Analysis
Spatial proximity to quantify the correlation between the spaces is not a spatial indicator of how
many one space is directly connected to another, but a spatial indicator of how many different spaces
are linked between the two selected spaces.

Figure 2. Space Proximity Analysis of Gajwa Health Life Support Center
Since ②waiting spaces and ⑧visiting health rooms are linked between ⑨exercise prescription
and ⑩Integrated Health Counseling Room in Figure 2 (a), moving between the two spaces (⑨‐⑩)
requires two rooms (②‐⑧), including the final destination space from the departure space. Thus, the
proximity between the two spaces is ‘3’. Using Figure 2 (a) to sort out the proximity of each of the spaces
in the Incheon Gajwa Healthy Life Support Center, the same as Figure 2 (b).
