5. Conclusions
This study identified the potential factors driving the application of the modular construction
method in a building project. As a result, the factors were systematically categorized into four major
components as following ‘Component 1: Stakeholder’s interest’, ‘Component 2: Technical tools support’,
‘Component 3: Improvement of social perception’ and ‘Component 4: Industrial demand’. In other words,
classified components can be comprehensively interpreted as means of that the adoption of MCM
requires attracting the stakeholder’s interests by improving social perception against the modular
construction method with technical support and industrial demand increase. This research focused on
recognizing the main components for driving adoption the MCM in a building project. Although the
study does not present all‐inclusive components, it can provide a basement for establishing more
explainable factors. Therefore, future researches are required to investigate the more various factors for
promoting modular construction in a building project. Additionally, the variation of these results needs
to be validated in the perspective of each stakeholder.
