Then this study analyzed the cases of Japanʹs Kwandong region (No. 7,9,11,12). In some cases,
Japan has an arrangement similar to annexes to Korea, but one building can be separated vertically and
horizontally to look like a single building. In the section, schools and facilities are mixed and used
together through circulation separation.
Looking at the differences through between the domestic and Japanese cases, Korea shows the
placement of annexes for the complete separation of school facilities and complex facilities, and the
connectivity with school facilities is very much lacking.
As seen in sections, parking lots are connected in the basement, but spaces on the ground tend to
be used separately, or have complete separation between the basement and the ground.
In Japan, school facilities and complex facilities are divided into areas but connected. It seems
possible to move around easily.
There were various sections. One section, which was completely divided into annexes and
connected to only a few floors, had various entrances on the first floor to use the ground together, or
had horizontal and vertical separations that could also be identified.

In domestic cases (No. 1~6), the area of parking facilities for residents or facility users is secured.
In most cases, parking facilities were identified. In addition, there were many indoor gymnasiums,
swimming pools, fitness centers, and squall courts as sports facilities that promote peopleʹs health.
Case 3, Jung‐Ang Elementary School, is an unusual case in Korea. There have been cases of
operating as a general library, but they have provided a special library program for music and art.
Library facilities were placed from the first floor to the second floor and specialized facilities from the
third floor to the fifth floor.
Case 6, Dogye Middle School, was a special case, too. Buildings on adjacent sites, not annexed by
schools, are connected to underground parking lots.
In Japan, programs such as libraries, public buildings, gyms, welfare facilities for the elderly, child
support centers, and nurseries differ. Libraries and gyms are considered to be general programs that
can be found in Korea.
