2.2 Site Measurements
The site measurements for the boundary conditions of the ENVI‐met models are taken at UAEU
campus, AL Ain. This is the closest city to the study area. They refer to a typical summer day that is 18
of June 2019. The measurements refer to hourly averaged values. The measured values are: temperature,
relative humidity, wind speed and wind direction. The sensors were calibrated prior recording the data.
The distribution on the campus refer to a research project and each unit is installed in an opened area
within the walking paths.
2.3 ENVI‐met simulations
The ENVI‐met simulations are done with the version 4.0. The information of the materials refer to
the report taken from the developer of the district. The boundary conditions refer to the site
measurements taken in AL Ain, the closest city to the study area. The bale 3 shows the 3D of the six
different scenarios considered in this study. The simulation time is relatively long. Passing from one
scenario to the other is notable the reduction of the vegetation and the replacement with the shading
devices.
