2.1 District Selection/ Scenarios valuation 
The figure 1 shows the values of PMV that we refer in this study. The figure 2 shows the district 
selected for this analysis. The area is located close to the AL Ain City, in the border to Oman. The table 
1 shows the different scenarios considered in this study. The eim is to understand which combination 
of  shading  devices  and  trees  brings  the  best  values  of  PMV.  The  table  2  shows  graphically  this 
distribution of shading devices and trees. The plans are done in autocad and they are the base for the 
ENVI‐met simulations. This district is selected as part of a larger study referring to the housing program 
coving the UAE major areas.
