Abstract: Demand response is typically operated using electricity rates and incentives. Demand
management based on electricity rates is the most reasonable and efficient method to manage demand,
including rolling the base rate at peak times, slipping scaling rates over time, sliding seasonal scaling
rates, and modifying nightly electricity rates. These techniques increase the energy efficiency of the
load by actively driving the demand response of the load and finding other ways to stimulate the
resource on demand. This paper proposes an ESS algorithm for saving energy based on estimating
the amount of solar photovoltaic power generation that can be used for buildings with small loads not
under electrical grid.
