The Weather Gods are expected to be a bit more forgiving this year and the stage is set to make this
year’s BOSM a spectacular one. Here, we present to you, certain handpicked events worth watching
along with the day’s schedule.
Squash
01
Venue – SAC
The first game of the day starts at 10:30 AM where Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi plays
St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur. This game is followed by the mighty Sri Lankans from KDU,
Colombo taking on LNMIIT, Jaipur. Finally, the BITS B team plays St. Xavier’s College,
Jaipur before an hour long break. In the post break session, The Lankans lock horns with
IIT, Delhi. In the penultimate game of the day, LNIPE play Sri Venkateswara College. The contest between
LNMIIT and the BITS A team will end the set of matches for the day.
SWIMMING

Venue - Birla High School
The day kicks off at 7.00 AM with the Men’s 100m freestyle event (for those of you who
are unaware - in the Freestyle events, swimmers are free to choose their swimming style
with very few restrictions). This is followed by heats for the boys’ and the finals for the
girls’ 50m Butterfly events. The final event of the first phase will be the boys’ 100m Breaststroke.
The second phase of events start with the finals for the 50m boys’ Butterfly event followed by the 50m girls’
Breaststroke event. The final events of the day are the medley relay events. A Medley relay is a combination of
four different swimming styles —Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle— into one race. Each one
of the four swimmers will use one of these swimming styles.
Athletics

Venue - Birla High School
The athletics events too were held in two phases with the morning phase starting at 7
AM. The day kicked off with the 1500m race followed by the heats for the 100m race,
and finally ending with the short put throw.
The evening phase starts off at 4 PM with the triple jump and ends with the 400m race.
Both boys’ and girls’ races are held together. The events are held over two days but a third day is
reserved in case the rain Gods decide to play the spoilsports. Don’t mind the 15 or so minutes’ walk to BHS.
This is an event really worth watching. Do keep an eye out for the lads and lasses from MNIT, Jaipur. They’re
expected to wreak havoc this year round as well.
Carrom

Venue - Gym Grounds
This classic game of dexterity and concentration has twelve teams divided into three pools
of four teams each, competing against each other. Each team plays three singles and two
doubles against their opponents. Every player can play a maximum of one singles and one
doubles match. The team that wins majority of the sets wins the game and proceeds to the next level.
CRICKET

Venue - MedC rounds
The matches this BOSM will be played following the standard T20 format, with the usual
rules applying to the twelve teams (from Delhi, Indore, Mumbai and other places) that
will be taking part. The initial stages are all knockout rounds till the final three are
reached. These teams will then play a round robin to decide the winner. The day started early, with a
match between MRIU and Thakur College taking place at the MedC grounds. Also, do look out for the l i v e
telecast of the T20 Champions League organised by Matrix.
