Abstract
THE ROLE OF DRAMA GAMES WITH DOLLS IN DEVELOPING COMPETENCES
Using dolls and cloth stories in educational work is motivational tool and a stimulus to empower and sensitize the child’ s emotional, social and cognitive development. Games with dolls are good prerequisite for encouraging tolerance, emotional intelligence and empathy. The suggestiveness that comes from the revival of dolls promotes identification mechanisms through which children recognize moods and context of events, and it stimulates their cognitive, fantasy and emotional world. Educational understanding of the meaning of dolls helps children to recognize different abilities like: emotional control, self-esteem, cooperative and pro-social competences. The doll connects all the areas important for optimal development of every child – understanding, movement, speech and coexistence with the environment. It is the way of communicating with the surrounding environment. The doll is stimulating child’ s imagination and creativity, the two most important components of further development. The experience of using dolls in the educational work shows that the doll is a great motivational tool for the development of key competences of all children.
