Weaknesses

Clothing sizes are in XS-L making it hard to customers to find their size

As the turnover of stock they could miss out on sales as customers aren't quick enough to see product

As they tend to deliver trend items before their competitors customers there is a risk of selling it too early so the customer isn't ready for the trend

They don’t advertise their collections through mainstream media e.g. magazines, television, billboards etc.

Zara are know for stocking limited quantities on their products, this could mean they miss out on sales

Earlier in the year Zara was accused of copying artists designs

Threats

Movements in the economy could increase costs and minimise profit margins

Designers coming out with ‘see now buy now’ strategy could make it harder to bring out product that customers want

Current terrorism threats could cause issues in the countries they source from such as Turkey

Customers choosing budget retailers such as Primark due to their more competitive pricing

Allegations of retailers such as ASOS exploiting their workers, this could happen to zara and damage their brand
