Farid Uddin Ahmed is the Executive
Director of Arannayk Foundation, a
not-for-profit
organization
for
promotion of forests & biodiversity
conservation in Bangladesh. He has
been working in this organization since
February 2007. Prior to this, he worked
with Bangladesh Agricultural Research
Council for 20 years in the field of
Natural Resources Management and
Bangladesh Forest Research Institute for
10 years in the field of silviculture. He is
specialized in agroforestry, community
based
forest
management
and
biodiversity conservation. He has three
Master’s degrees Botany from Dhaka
University, Forestry from Peshawar
University, Pakistan and Environmental
Forestry from University of Wales,
Bangor, UK. He has thirty scientific
publications in his credit and author of
four books related to forest management
and biodiversity conservation which are
used as reference books in university and
forestry diploma curricula in Bangladesh.
Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury is the
Managing Director of Chittagong Social
Business Center limited. He served as
president of Chittagong Chamber of
Commerce & Industry, and Director of the
Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers &
Exporters Association (BGMEA). He has
represented business and trade delegations
in the USA, India, Thailand, and other
countries, playing a leading role in
establishing World Trade Center in
Chittagong.
He currently serves as a Senate Member at
Chittagong University, a Trustee and
Syndicate Member at Chittagong
Independent University, and a Member of
the Independent University Bangladesh
ESTCDT. He also serves as Honorary
Consul of Thailand in Chittagong.
