CONNECTIONS: OLD AND NEW
YWCA Adelaide are now one of the leading
members of the Family & Domestic Violence
Advocacy
Network
(FADVAN) and the
Addressing
Violence
Alliance
(AVA),
collaborating on events and submissions, including
the DV Forum on LGBTIQ communities, a joint
submission to the State Government on the 2016
DV Discussion Paper, and supporting the White
Ribbon March in Adelaide.
We continue to host Adelaide University research
students from their Arts Internship Program. This
past year Genevieve Brandenburg wrote a report
on women’s leadership in Japan and Anna Lane
conducted a research piece on body image
movements. You can find these on our Resources
page on the YWCA Adelaide website.

HISTORY
With discussions focused on a national
merger, this has been a year of reflection
and celebration for YWCA Adelaide.
To that end, we have been digging through our
archives, and uncovering beautiful YWCA
Adelaide history, including this ‘Adelaide YWCA
Song’, written in the early 1900s! We love that it
still reflects our aim to build strong generations of
women and girls!
