PREVENTING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
YWCA Adelaide continues to strengthen its focus on preventing violence
against women in South Australia through the delivery of Respectful
Relationships Education in schools, and Bystander Intervention
Workshops in workplaces and community settings.
‘Whole of Community’ Violence Prevention project:
Partnering with City of Salisbury
In 2016-17 YWCA Adelaide partnered with the
City of Salisbury on two funded projects delivered
in the Salisbury region focused on the prevention
of violence against women. This involved delivery
of 17 Respect Communicate Choose programs
with primary schools, 5 Relationship Things
programs with secondary schools and 9
Bystander Workshops with community groups
and City of Salisbury staff.
799 individuals participated in these programs
including 547 students in years 5-7 in the RCC
program, 85 students in years 8 & 9 in
Relationship Things and 167 community
members and City of Salisbury staff through the
Bystander workshops.
