STRATEGIC GOAL FOUR By 2019 the YWCA has developed enduring partnerships and connectivity that enhances its capacity to influence and create positive outcomes on issues and services impacting women. The 2015/2016 year saw YWCA Adelaide working collaboratively on a number of projects with our members and with new community partners and sponsors. We continue to be inspired by the support of our most valued partners, our Members. In April 2016 in commemoration of World YWCA Day, the YWCA Adelaide celebrated by hosting a Round the World Breakfast for 50 people at the Jade Monkey on Flinders Street in Adelaide. EMBED SLIDESHOW HERE We invited our YWCA Adelaide members and friends to gather over breakfast and connect with each other and the work of the YWCA. In keeping with the global theme, guest speakers shared their international experiences, including a report from the World YWCA Council held in October 2015. We also welcomed our guest from YWCA Tokyo, Miho Fujiware, who is engaging with YWCA Adelaide this year on our young women’s leadership programs. We continue to be a member of the Family & Domestic Violence Advocacy Network (FADVAN) and the Addressing Violence Alliance (AVA), collaborating on events and submissions, including the White Ribbon March in Adelaide in November 2015. YWCA Adelaide is honoured to continue our relationship with Adelaide University through hosts research students each semester from their Arts Internship Program, including Grace Oliver Dearman and Saidha Gotboudine. 18
