The importance of our independent
advocacy voice was demonstrated
through campaigns, media coverage and
submissions and through representation
at key global events such as the United
Nations Commission on the Status of
Women.
Members of YWCA Adelaide are offered
significant benefits as reward for their
loyalty and commitment to the organisation
and this year we were proud to launch
the Great Ydeas Small Grants program
for Members, adapted from the YWCA
Canberra Great Ydeas model.
This Annual Report provides an insight in
to the highlights and achievements of last
year, including our strong financial position.
In closing, 2015 is the 135th anniversary
of YWCA Adelaide. Our founder Lady Mary
Colton who was President for almost
twenty years, was honoured also this
year at the 120th anniversary of women
in South Australia winning the right to
vote. Mary was President of the Women’s
Suffrage League at this historic time. I
