After Hakofos the Rebbe went down to the Beis Hamedrash for Krias Hatorah. The honor of Choson
Breishis was given to the Rebbe. The Mershus was read with great emotion by one of the elder Chassidim.
When he reached the place where the Choson Breishis is called up, by the words“ V’ ata Kum”(“ and now stand”), he broke down in tears and announced aloud for the first time,“ Ya’ amoid Adoneinu Moreinu Virabeinu Ben Harav Levi Yitzchak!” There are no words to describe the intense emotion which was felt throughout the congregation at that moment. It was a special experience, as though they were attending a coronation. The look on the Rebbe’ s face showed no special reaction at that moment. Later, at the
Brachos, the Rebbe began to cry.
