organizations in their work with/for young people in terms
of training, educational and training materials, publications,
guidance, advice, as well as organizing activities, evaluation etc.;
Advocate and lobby for changes in policies that will address the
needs of young people (particularly those from disadvantaged
neighborhoods or those facing disadvantage);
Lobby to governmental institutions to include the youth dimension
(participation) when defining and carrying out their programs of
activities;
Foster the empowerment of young people in society, and foster
their participation in the decision-making processes;
Contribute to the personal, socio-educational and professional
development of young people in Europe;
Contribute to the development of youth work at European, national,
regional or local levels;
Contribute to the debate on development of policy issues affecting
young people and youth organisations at European, national,
regional or local levels;
Promote intercultural learning, the respect of diversity, and the
values of solidarity, equal opportunities and human rights among
young people in Europe;
Promote and support inclusion of young people with fewer
opportunities in society
notably through activities that foster the development of knowledge,
attitudes,
competences
and
skills
through
non
formal
education, intercultural learning and human rights education.
Our networking process started few years ago as a result of the work that
we have done together on improvement of access to social rights for young
people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods within the ENTER! project of
the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, and was empowered
during the International meeting Together for social rights – youth works
and local authorities promoting and networking for access to social rights
for young people (particularly ones from disadvantaged neighbourhoods or
ones facing disadvantage) that was the first activity of Y-SRN in
cooperation with the European Youth Centre, the Department of Youth
(YD) of The Council of Europe (CoE).
