page 6 E d i t or s P i c k Allah's Mercy A Poem by Br. Atik Rahman Allah is the All Merciful, the Most Merciful His Mercy is vast and all encompassing He is ever bestowing His Mercy to His creation He is the only one that can save you so listen giving if others do not know about it on social media. As the popular saying goes, “Pic or it didn’t happen”. Simply put, society demands evidence for every little act and we sell the purity of our intention by buying into society’s demand for proof of our good conduct. Remember, it was the Bedouin that made the prophet’s mercy and hospitality public, not Prophet (S) himself. Allah’s Mercy is like an everlasting cloud Engulfing the heavens and earth from East to West It is constantly raining beautiful beads of light Hidden or apparent, thanks to God’s gift of sight Being merciful requires being altruistic, which in He gives us rain for food and drink He forgives us when we repent We need Allah to get through strife Surely Allah sustains all life As Long as we believe and struggle in His name He will unveil ninety-nine parts of His Mercy On the Day of Judgement Only He can save us from punishment turn requires depriving oneself of comfort and then going out of his way to pave the road and shovel out the obstacles for someone else, then making that person feel as if that person is the most beloved to him. That is how the Prophet (S) made others feel when in his noble company. Anyone, after interacting with the Prophet (S) for a moment, would think that no one is more beloved to the Prophet (S) than he. This is the prophetic model. Be merciful So Allah will grant mercy upon you If you wish to succeed Listen and take heed Atiq Rahman is a MUNA Youth leader and a senior in Carver High School in Philadelphia.
