Punk.

2016 celebrates 40 years of punk- well, 40 years since the Sex Pistols burst onto the music scene. A number of exhibitions have popped up all over the world, which has seemed to strike a nerve with Joe Corrè (Malcom McLaren & Vivienne Westwood’s son). Corrè has expressed how he doesn’t want punk to enter mainstream culture and so he has decided to burn £5 million worth of memorabilia in protest to the commercialisation of punk- of which his parents made a significant contribution to.

"It’s the ideas that are important, not the memorabilia"

-Joe Corrè

“Hes planning to burn £5 million of punk memorabilia at the end of the year, in protest at how he feels that punk has been ‘appropriated by the mainstream’ and become like a fucking museum piece. He’s into lingerie isn’t he? Well I think he’d be better off burning his bra”.

if you have £5 million of anything then you should donate it to charity”

- John Lydon

NO FUTURE.
