Wong and other core members of Scholarism formed a political party to succeed Scholarism called Demosisto. 23 year-old chairman Nathan Law became the youngest candidate ever after Demosisto won a seat in the 2016 legislative council election.
Considering the scenes at Tiananmen Square in 1989, Demosisto represents a huge step forward in society for China. A change which wouldn’t have been achieved without the thousands of dedicated and interconnected students in Hong Kong.

Although Demosisto’s political presence is minuscule, its significance is massive. For a Student lead movement to have legitimate political representation in China, a near one party state, is ground-breaking.
