If he died in a car accident
Would it be any different?
A part of me dies anyways.
I wonder
If it had ever been a part of me,
I feel so estranged from it.
Already I can feel the earth rising
The ocean salts my wound
The worms eat away my decaying pieces
The smell of rotting leaves ease my pain like anesthesia
The roots of the willow tree reconnecting my disconnected parts
Vines come
Through the window
Lifting me into the sun’s glorious light
I return to the earth
I’m alone
I’m whole.
