What inspires me to create art is the ability
to make something that is old or familiar,
suddenly new and exciting, simply by
changing the perspective or point of view.

I am associate faculty at Cascadia and feel
fortunate to be the instructor for Yours Truly
this year. I am a multi-passionate artist
who loves to combine the written word and
visual art to create mixed media and hybrid
works, like my book and card deck Body
Cards, which will be published in August
of this year. You can find my website here:

Angel Resurreccion
Cascadia College Student
My name is Angel Resurreccion, and I enjoy writing short stories and poetry on my own
time. I’ve always found reading and writing fulfilling, and I love that I can express myself
creatively through literature.

Cascadia College Faculty
I’m an educator, anthropologist, book lover,
master procrastinator, sometimes writer; and
photography is my zen experience. In May
2015, I visited New Mexico and spent time in
the area where Georgia O’Keefe spent the
last part of her life. While the landscape was
incredibly colorful, in my mind’s eye I kept
seeing it in stark black and white, which
seemed to capture the starkness of the
landscape.

Natalie Serianni is a full-time faculty member
in English at Cascadia, marking almost ten
years at the college. She is inspired by her
observations of people, as well as grief, loss
and small, often magical, moments. Her
poetry has been performed and published in
Yours Truly, Crosscurrents and Cold Mountain
Review.
