Architecture
Mosaic is still the most popular
aesthetic method in creating the most
profound and important religious pieces.
The three images below are of:
‘Saint Valentine’, a 350x210cm work
made of Venetian smalti. The sketch is
by Stefano Jus and made in collaboration
with the Mosaic School of Spilimbergo
in Italy for the church of: ‘Santa
Maria di Campagna’ in Cessalto (Italy).
Mosaic was able to give the sketch a depth
no paint could. The texture of the materials
and the way they reflect in the light bring
the piece to life. Practically speaking,
Mosaic endures all types of weather.
