Thank you!
Returning for its third year of running, spinning and climbing,
Guy’s Urban Challenge 2017 was bigger and better than ever!
Our ‘urban triathlon’ sees participants run 2.4km around
Guy’s Hospital and spin 15km on a state-of-the-art Wattbike
before climbing 29 floors to the top of one of the world’s
tallest hospital buildings, Guy’s Tower.
All money raised will go towards helping patients
at Guy’s and St Thomas’ or Evelina London.
Thank you to all our hospital heroes!

Leaving a legacy
We are very grateful to the late Arnold Freedman, who left a
gift in his will to Evelina London.
Arnold was a frequent visitor to Guy’s and St Thomas’ over
many years. His daughter Carrie explained why the hospitals
were so important to her father:
‘My Dad was 20 in the year the NHS was born and was keenly aware of
its value. As a child, he spent a protracted period in a London hospital with a
condition which was often fatal before the availability of penicillin. He was lucky
to recover, but lost a bone in his arm in the process. He would be pleased to know
that, due to his bequest, young people can rely on quality treatment, irrespective
of their background, ethnicity or financial situation. He was not an extravagant
man and I find great solace in the knowledge that he has left such a significant
sum to help others in the future, particularly children.’
