Will you concentrate on the European Tour next year or will you play on others like the Asian and Sunshine Tours in order to fill the calendar and play golf as early as possible? “You’re clearly a fashion lover and wear Bunker Mentality on Tour. As a brand ambassador how hands on is your role with the brand?” I’ll play in whatever I can get in, they’ll be tournaments where I need invites but I’ll leave that to my manager, that’s what he gets paid for. I’m not fashion designer but I have given them input on what I need as a professional, fittings, materials etc. I also can advise them of what else is in the professional space and what I see at events. Hopefully they listen! Who does your team consist of and are they with you at each event? Who are they and what do they do? Every event is different, sometimes I’ll have the psychologist with me, the coach can’t always be there as he works out of the US, sometimes it’s the personal trainer, Chubby (the manager) makes sure he invests time in me. And I obviously always have my caddy. Who is that set to be for next year? We have identified a list of people, people that will work well me both socially, a match of personality etc. and definitely someone experienced. I can’t tell you who it’s going to be yet though! Do you spend time socially with other players on the tour or is it all work and no play? No I do make sure I get to enjoy the job, I’ll spend time with my caddy, evening meals etc. and also some of the players- good friends like Jamie Donaldson, Steve Webster, Matthew Baldwin… What’s been the highlight of your career so far and do you think there are more to come? The Dunhill Links, it’s such a prestigious tournament, it’s got heritage and it always has a good, strong field and to beat top players in a tournament at St. Andrew is always special.
