Fuelled by the success of its glove and footwear range in the US G/FORE has now grown its distribution network to over 40 countries and is now launching its maiden apparel line in the UK, focusing its attentions on men’s technical fashion knitwear. At the end of July we had the chance to get up close and personal to line at the UK launch at Urban Golf in Soho, and to our delight the range really lived up to its hype. The G/FORE knitwear collection offers a modern interpretation of a classic style in custom-developed, hybrid-blend fabrics which provide the ultimate in both performance and luxury. Special features of the launch range include all-natural yarns; moisture-wicking and fast-drying properties engineered for breathability. For the few sunny days that the British summer serves up each of the garments offers built-in UV sun protection and resistance to fading. To ensure that each and every player feels comfortable on the course the fibres used in the line offer fourway stretch technology to allow essential freedom of movement throughout your swing. The cotton pique knit even features a functional yarn that reflects UV light away from the body, providing a cooler, more comfortable wearer experience.  The UK apparel will accommodate a wide range of ages and styles, its camouflage print Polo’s are technically well put together offering all levels off golfers good movement and playability on the course but at the same time allowing the wearer to step straight off the 18th and feel comfortable and stylish in the clubhouse. “Giannulli said: “We are taking a real fashion perspective with a cleaner aesthetic. This combination is a unique opportunity for us. There are great athletic golf brands and there are great casual golf brands.  We’ve taken fabrics that you see in fashion from top luxury brands and fused them with technical properties keeping the athlete in mind. “We’ve really taken our time working with our mills to find and develop fabrics that have the right hand, drape, texture, weight, and unique look for G/FORE.” iannulli added: “G/FORE stands for quality, colour and G expressiveness. Our knitwear, gloves, shoes and socks weren’t designed in a cubicle and tested in a factory; they were born out of a desire to express myself while playing, and to help inject a little more personality and flair into the game. That’s why we started G/FORE and it’s why more and more golfers are turning to G/FORE – they want to enjoy their golf, and they want to look and feel exceptional when they play.” 21 | YOURCADDY MAG - ISSUE 04
