DO YOU HAVE A PROGRESS MAP FOR THE SEASON,
DO YOU HAVE CERTAIN BENCHMARKS FOR EACH
EVENT AND AGAINST OTHER COMPETITORS?
HOW DO YOU GET IN THE MIND-SET FOR YOUR
TOURNAMENTS? DO YOU HAVE A ROUTINE
BEFOREHAND, WHAT DOES THAT CONSIST OF?
Really my only goal is to do the best I can and go
into every event with the attitude that I can win
this. The mental side of the game is so important.
Well we have a few days preparing before
Thursday that includes our practice rounds. Then
we all have our routine before we walk into the
first tee, it’s normally the same every day, The
same amount of time and in the same order. I
usually arrive 1hour 10 mins before my tee time. I
start with putting then chipping, then head to the
range to stretch and hit some balls before hitting
a final few putts just before walking onto the
tee. Every player should warm up properly before
around not just the Pro’s!
YOU HAVE OVER 20,000 FOLLOWERS ON
VARIOUS SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS, IS PART OF
THE ENJOYMENT OF YOUR GOLFING LIFE BEING
ABLE TO SHARE YOUR DAILY ACTIVITY WITH
YOUR FANS?
I enjoy the social media side. I think it great to
give others an insight. It’s also great for me to
see insight from other athletes. There is always
something to learn every day. I think with social
media though everyone has their own opinions,
as long as your happy with what you’re doing
then that’s all that matters.
There are times where there will always be a
comment or something negative from someone,
the most important thing is to never take it
personally, which I am one too at times but I’m
learning.
WE REGULARLY SEE YOUR GYM, DANCE AND
WORKOUT ROUTINES ON YOUR FACEBOOK
PAGE, YOUR FITNESS LEVELS ARE CLEARLY IN THE
RIGHT PLACE BUT WHAT DO YOU DO TO GROW
THE MENTAL PART OF YOUR GAME?
I think the mental side is where I need to really
focus the most. Start believing in myself more and
trusting in my ability. Working on it every day will
help me to get back to my best.
DO YOU THINK WOMEN’S GOLF NEEDS TO BE
MORE MEDIA SAVVY IN TERMS OF ITS PLAYERS
ALLOWING BETTER INSIGHTS INTO THEIR LIVES, OR
CAN SOCIAL MEDIA BE A DISTRACTION FOR YOUR
GAME?
I think there needs to be a happy medium. Some
people prefer to stay more private than others
and people need to respect that. We decide as
athletes how much insight we want to share with
the media and it should always stay that way.
EVERY PLAYER UTILISES THEIR CADDY IN A
DIFFERENT WAY, WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP LIKE
WITH YOURS AND HOW MUCH INPUT DOES HE
HAVE ON YOUR PLAY DURING YOUR ROUND?
I.E. IS IT JUST YARDAGES AND LINES OR MENTAL
SUPPORT ETC.
Every player is different in this aspect. I’m actually
still looking for the right caddie for me. At the
moment I need the yardages to help me, plenty of
positivity and some fun chat to keep me relaxed
and chilled.
HOW DO YOU UNWIND AFTER A TOURNAMENT?
Watch TV series, go to the movies or just chill &
see friends.
DO YOU HAVE “GOOD” FRIENDS ON THE TOUR
AND WHO DO YOU SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME
WITH ON AND OFF THE COURSE?
It’s a nice tour everyone gets on well with
everyone. I have a few friends that I would spend
more of my time with or that I room with. I think
it’s good to have people you can relax and be
yourself with on tour because otherwise it can get
lonely, plus we are always travelling so it’s nice to
be with someone else that understands what it’s
like. These are the people we see most weeks and
spend most of our time with.
