Highlights

• Finished the year with revenues of $ 599,000 thousand less than budgeted and expenses $ 4.72 million less than budgeted , producing a net positive financial performance against budget .
• Fifteenth consecutive year that financial performance was better than budgeted .
• Dr . Howard Wright , Life University ’ s Director of Institutional Research Operations , participated in the Harvard University Graduate School of Education ’ s Management Development Program in June 2019 .
• Vice President of University Advancement Dr . Gilles LaMarche was selected by Leadership Cobb as one of the 50 members of its 2019-2020 class .
• Dr . Marla Thompson , Adjunct Professor of Business , was honored with the 2020 Vulcan Materials Company ’ s Teaching Excellence Award . Dr . Thompson also won the award in 2019 .
• Dr . Mickey Parsons , Assistant Professor of Psychology , was named to HR Tech Outlook magazine ’ s Top 10 Leadership Development Training / Coaching Companies of 2019 .
• Life University ’ s Center for Compassion , Integrity and Secular Ethics ( CCISE ) led a Compassionate Integrity Training ( CIT ) program for 60 youth from around the globe at the first-ever World Youth Conference on
Kindness , in partnership with the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization ’ s Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development ( UNESCO MGIEP ).
• Life University Athletics was recognized by the NAIA as a Silver Champions of Character Five-Star Institution award winner .
• Life University launched its the College of Online Education , giving undergraduate and graduate students from across the U . S . and around the world a unique , personalized educational experience that they can only get at LIFE .
• College of Chiropractic faculty member Dr . Hussein Elsangak , M . D , D . C ., moderated a panel discussion at the 9th Global Forum on Health
Promotion , held at the headquarters of the World Health Organization ( WHO ) in Geneva , Switzerland .
• Adjunct Professor of Business Dr . Marla Thompson , Assistant Professor of Business and Business Program Coordinator Marie A . Powell and Assistant Professor of Business Ronald G . Ware gave presentations on leadership during the 2020 Georgia DECA State Career Development Conference .
• 15 graduates at Lee Arrendale State Prison were awarded Associate of Arts degrees in Positive Human Development and Social Change as part of the Chillon Project , an initiative of LIFE ’ s Center for Compassion , Integrity and Secular Ethics ( CCISE ).
• The Life University Marketing Department was among the winners of the 2020 AVA Digital Awards , which recognize excellence in digital marketing and communication .
• CCISE hosted free webinars , built on Compassionate Integrity Training ( CIT ), designed to improve people ’ s resiliency amid the COVID-19 ( coronavirus ) situation .
• CCISE partnered with Charter for Compassion to hold a Compassionate Integrity Training ( CIT ) program for educators around the world .
• LIFE ’ s Marketing Department was among the winners of the 26th Annual Communicator Awards , honored with an Award of Distinction in the category of Social Responsibility for its video about the University ’ s guiding principle , Lasting Purpose .
• The Life University Dr . Sid E . Williams Center for Chiropractic Research ( CCR ) announced the development of PAT ( Palpation and Adjustment Trainer ), an anatomically accurate , technology-based mannequin with the look , feel , size and weight of an average person .
• Women ’ s Swimming finished fifth at NAIA Nationals with a programhigh nine All-Americans . Dora Reizinger finished as the National Runner- Up in the 200 Backstroke .
• Julia Vidallon from Women ’ s Wrestling won a WCWA National Championship at 123 lbs . and qualified for the US Olympic Team Trials . The team captured second at the MSC Championships and second at the WCWA National Championships .
• The Men ’ s Soccer team captured the Mid-South Conference regular season championship and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in more than 20 years .
• The Men ’ s Wrestling team captured second at the NWCA National Duals and Denver Stonecheck finished as the NAIA National Runner-Up . The team also earned the MSC South Division title for the regular season .
• Life University Athletics featured 26 All-Americans and 44 Daktronics- NAIA Scholar-Athletes . The Running Eagles also totaled 88 All-Academic MSC honors .
• Life University Athletics won seven Athlete of the Year distinctions and one MSC Coach of the Year honor . The department also boasted two team MSC Championships with 14 individual titles .
• Spiff Sedrick from Women ’ s Rugby was named the MA Sorensen Award winner , which is given to the best women ’ s collegiate rugby player in the country .
• Men ’ s Rugby alumni Conner Mooneyham was drafted number one overall in the first ever Collegiate MLR Draft .
