Patience Canty Jesslian Rosa
University — my plan for LLW was to see if Life University was the right fit for me . The Student Ambassadors played a key component in that decision . Their stories inspired me to pursue my dreams , and my interactions with them made feel like if I was already part of the school . They made such in impact on me that I became a Student Ambassador to give to others what I received during LLW . I want to inspire and help prospective students to follow their dreams and achieve their goals .
Why are the Student Ambassadors important ?
Canty : The Student Ambassadors serve as the student liaisons to the Office of the President . It ’ s an integral role because we are the culture keepers on campus . In that sense , we can see the vision our University leadership has for the campus and add input as current students who would be impacted by the fruition of that vision . We blend our individual expressions of Vitalism with the forward-minded goals of the University . With this unique perspective , we are able to have a long-lasting impact on the current and prospective Life University community .
Rosa : Student Ambassadors are the first contact that prospective students have with the Life University student community . Our work as Student Ambassadors is voluntary ; when we share
our stories and experiences , people find them trustworthy because there is not any bias behind what we say . We share from our hearts , and our only purpose is to inspire others to find their Lasting Purpose .
How do you feel being a Student Ambassador allows you to demonstrate Lasting Purpose ?
Rosa : I believe that being Student Ambassador allows me to serve my Lasting Purpose even if I haven ’ t become a chiropractor yet . I want to help transform people ’ s lives , and thanks to the Student Ambassadors , I ’ m able to inspire others to choose Chiropractic as a career . Because of that decision , I will be changing their lives indirectly because that future chiropractor will be changing their lives and those of others as well .
Canty : As a Student Ambassador , I get to share my love for the University on each and every tour I give , as well as via the conversations I ’ m having outside of the Life University bubble . I truly believe the best service is through doing . Being a Student Ambassador gives me the opportunity “ to do ” so much on campus , from serving at graduation to making myself available for current students to voice their concerns . It also has prepared me for service beyond Life University . I ’ m so thankful the University has helped me cultivate my servant ’ s
heart .
What have you learned from being a Student Ambassador ?
Rosa : Being a Student Ambassador has shown me that serving is more rewarding than receiving .
Canty : I ’ ve learned how to problem-solve even when differing opinions are present . I ’ ve learned how to love others because of our unique perspectives . I ’ ve learned that family can be found in the most unlikely of places .
What other thoughts do you have about being a Student Ambassador ?
Canty : I love that our group evolves each quarter as we gain new Ambassadors and watch former Ambassadors transition beyond graduation . We truly rise to the occasion and are highly adaptable to a variety of situations , whether it is brainstorming virtual tour options due to COVID-19 or navigating student experiential learning activities at LIFE Leadership Weekend . Being an Ambassador has changed my entire experience here at Life University , and I am so grateful for the opportunity .
Rosa : I feel honored to be able to represent Life University and Chiropractic . Serving each day gives me the inspiration to become a better person every day .
