Studying Chiropractic at LIFE

Life University ’ s Doctor of Chiropractic ( D . C .) degree is a rigorous , 14-quarter program that typically takes students four years to complete , though everyone ’ s pace is different . The curriculum structure is logical and sequential , with a course of study that helps develop students into highlyskilled , practice-ready practitioners .
At the beginning of students ’ journeys , they study the foundational aspects upon which the profession is built — the history , philosophy and science of Chiropractic . As they progress past the first two quarters , students continue studying the basic sciences while also beginning to learn about chiropractic analysis , techniques and examinations . Once students reach the eighth quarter of the program , they are prepared for entrance into the clinical phase of study , where real-world application of their desired profession begins to come into view . As they approach the finish line , students nearing graduation take practice management and clinical application courses , working in outpatient settings . The curriculum is designed to provide the student with the education necessary to be successful in obtaining eligibility for licensure .
Technique and Biomechanics What ’ s the best way to get better at something ? Practice , of course . That ’ s why LIFE students get more time in technique classes ( learning how to adjust ) than students at any other chiropractic college . It ’ s also why we only teach technique in small groups of 20 students or fewer — compared to typical classes of more than twice that size . That way , expert faculty can provide plenty of hands-on instruction , answer questions and allow students ample opportunity to practice . “ Our technique faculty pride themselves on their abilities to bring real-world experience into the classroom ,” notes Leslie King , D . C ., Dean , Life University College of Chiropractic . “ Their outside knowledge and abilities allow them to help students develop their critical thinking skills to not only be great adjusters , but also to focus on overall health and wellness .”
