UNIVERSITY HIGHLIGHTS Fiscal Year 2019 ( July 1 , 2018-June 30 , 2019 )

• Finished the year with revenues of $ 2.5 million greater than budgeted and expenses $ 320 thousand less than budgeted , producing a net positive financial performance against budget .
• Fourteenth consecutive year that financial performance was better than budgeted .
• The Chillon Project , an initiative of Life University ’ s Center for Compassion , Integrity and Secular Ethics ( CCISE ), reached a historic milestone . In January 2019 , 11 students incarcerated at Lee Arrendale State Prison , a maximum security women ’ s prison in Georgia , graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Positive Human Development and Social Change ( PHDSC ).
• The Center for Compassion , Integrity and Secular Ethics ( CCISE ) expanded its Compassionate Integrity Training ( CIT ) to include online courses through its partnership with the Charter for Compassion . CCISE also conducted CIT sessions for three organizations working to end homelessness and substance abuse .
• CCISE formed a partnership with the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization ’ s Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development ( UNESCO MGIEP ). A delegation from CCISE also delivered presentations at the 2018 National Conference for Higher Education in Prison .
• In a list compiled by Best Value Schools , Life University ’ s Online Master of Science in Positive Psychology degree program remained the ninth highest-rated out of all online psychology master ’ s degree programs in the U . S .
• Life University ’ s Online Master ’ s in Positive Psychology was ranked one of the top 10 most affordable online psychology master ’ s degree programs from a private university by The Best Master ’ s Degrees .
• Life University adjunct professor Dr . Marla Thompson earned a Ph . D . in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University .
• Dr . Stephanie Sullivan , Director of the Life University Dr . Sid E . Williams Center for Chiropractic Research ( CCR ), earned a Ph . D . in Neuroscience from the Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute at the University of Georgia .
• Life University alumnus Dr . Gene Garris was appointed to the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners .
• Three Life University graduates were elected to the Georgia Chiropractic Association Board of Directors , joining two other LIFE alumni serving on the GCA board .
• At the 2018 Fall CElebration , hosted more than 1,700 alumni and friends on campus for continuing education , reunion events and parties .
• Men ’ s Rugby won their second-straight USA Rugby 15s National Championship , the team ’ s fourth title in seven years .
• For the third year in a row , the University was one of two host sites for the USA Rugby Men ’ s D1A National Semi-Finals .
• Women ’ s Rugby finished second at the USA Rugby 15s National Championships .
• Men ’ s Wrestling finished 3rd at the NAIA National Championships and 2nd at NWCA National Duals .
• Men ’ s Wrestling ’ s Nosomy Pozo captured a NAIA National Championship for the second- consecutive year to give him four total national championships across all levels .
• Harley Wheeler from Men ’ s Rugby was named the Rudy Scholz award winner , which is given to the best collegiate rugby player in the country .
• Men ’ s Club rugby won the D1 Club National Championship over the Austin Blacks 28 – 27 .
• Broke ground on the New Commons , a 362 student , 99,000 squarefoot campus housing and dining facility that ultimately opened September 2018 .
• Nine DCs with direct Life University connections were recognized as part of DrAxe . com ’ s Top 25 Chiropractors of 2017 , compiled through a set of criteria to determine which doctors were having the biggest global impact in both the chiropractic industry and healthcare overall .
• Launched three new online offerings : Associate of Science in Health and Wellness , Bachelor of Science in Biology and the Pre-D . C . Pathway toward a Doctor of Chiropractic .
