Dear Alumni and Friends of Life University ,

Your friendship and support of this institution make you an integral part of the accomplishments we ’ ve made over the last year . Please know how much we welcome and appreciate your ongoing involvement . Life University is better and stronger with your involvement , and we hope you feel a sense of pride as you read through this edition of Your Extraordinary LIFE and review yet another remarkable year in the history of Life University .
For instance , although traditional undergraduate student enrollment is declining nationwide , our undergrad enrollment is on the rise ... a steep rise . We currently have one of the highest ever undergraduate student enrollments ( 874 ) in the history of our College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies ( CGUS ), thanks in large part to the dedication and hard work of our Athletics and Enrollment teams , as well as increased involvement of our CGUS alumni .
According to the data , it is a similarly noteworthy story for our Doctor of Chiropractic program . Even though , across the board , enrollment in chiropractic education programs has been relatively stagnant for the last two decades , enrollment in our College of Chiropractic ( COC ) just hit a five-year high . We don ’ t think it ’ s merely coincidental that LIFEforce membership has increased by a whopping 67 %, and members are inviting more and more prospective students to their offices to hear the story of Life U and Chiropractic .
We expect to see continued enrollment increases as a result of two major initiatives . First , the reactivated LAMP ( LIFE Academic Master Plan ) process will guide us in developing new programs that are consistent with our mission , our principles and our philosophy of health and performance . Second , the Board has approved the creation of a third college within the institution , the College of Online Education , which will vastly increase our global impact , allowing us to share our principles of Lasting Purpose , vital health and performance with students around the world .
Our commitment to be a source of positive social disruption came to fruition this year with the graduation of our first Chillon Program class at Lee Arrendale Women ’ s Prison here in Georgia . To say that the ceremony was moving – and that the sense of pride and gratitude in the room that day was palpable – would be an understatement . We are also positively disrupting the prison system by providing Compassionate Integrity Training ( CIT ), a leading-edge expression of Lasting Purpose , and training inmates as facilitators to expand our capacity for positive disruption . Additionally , we partnered with the International Charter for Compassion , UNESCO and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education and Peace and delivered CIT at this year ’ s World Youth Conference on Kindness . This historic partnership increases our capacity for social disruption on a global scale .
This year has also seen the entire Life U community invited to be part of designing our future as an institution and force for good in the world . The 2040 strategic planning process has completed stage one , looking back to learn by assessing the projects that were part of the 2020 plan . Subsequent stages , such as identifying areas of strength of opportunity , will continue to involve all Life U constituencies under the Chancellor ’ s challenge of fearless thinking .
As we look back on the past year , and forward to 2040 , we know that there is little to help us imagine the technological and scientific developments and disruptions that twenty years will bring . However , there is one thing we know with certainty . The values represented in Lasting Purpose , on which Life University was founded , will not change . Our programs will continue to reflect clinical and practical approaches based on facilitating optimal expression of innate potential within both individuals and systems , beginning with identifying and removing interference to the expression of their potential , whether to the individual ’ s nervous system , an organization ’ s fixed mindset or to a social system ’ s limiting beliefs . This institution will continue to be a force for positive social disruption until all people and systems are free of interference to being all they can be .
Yours in Chiropractic ,
President Rob Scott , D . C ., Ph . D .
