YoungShip Cyprus 10th anniversary and a year full of energy and experiences !
Thankfully , covid-19 measures were significantly relaxed in 2022 facilitating the organization and hosting of various social events and activities during the year .
Among others , we had the opportunity to revive our LAW ( Life After Work ) networking events hosted every first Friday of each month . We also participated in numerous events hosted by the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Shipping including the Thalassa Festival 2022 that aimed at informing young people on maritime professions and on Cyprus ’ s achievements in the maritime sector . Let ’ s DISCO school campaign was also a Ministry ’ s initiative that Youngship Cyprus is supporting that aims at providing holistic information related to the shipping industry and especially study options and employment prospects in the sector . In collaboration with Wista Cyprus , Youngship Cyprus has also participated in Maritime Cyprus 2022 by hosting the Young Executive session with an objective to create a forum for young shipping professionals to debate career related shipping issues and discuss their vision of the industry , prospects and challenges that stimulate and affect them from a different perspective .
Youngship Cyprus has also organized university campaigns with an objective to inform students about pursuing a career in the shipping industry by organizing presentations and panel discussions with industry professionals who shared their personal experiences . Our members also had the chance to apply for the various scholarship programs that were available in the year in collaboration with universities / institutions that offer shipping related courses / programs .
In our effort to bring young shipping professionals together under a more casual and fun setting , we have also organized various sport activities such as Tennis Tournaments and SUP rides . Our Online Quiz game that was published in social media was also very attractive to our members who had the challenge to respond to various shipping-related questions and win prizes .
Our yearly Gala Dinner was also back in 2022 and proved to be very successful ; Youngship Cyprus Awards 2022 were the biggest highlight of the night .
