This production recounts the tale of ill-fated lovers on the
lonely moors of northern England. Heathcliff and
Catherine meet as children and grow up together, but
when Catherine’s parents die her brother turns Heathcliff
out, forcing him to live among the servants. Catherine
marries another and Heathcliff disappears, returning years
later as a wealthy man. Is it too late for them? Wuthering
Heights is a deep and wide story of passion, revenge,
family, class, and the supernatural. Bringing its signature
style and dynamic approach, Aquila re-imagines one of
the most famous love stories ever told with this heart
wrenching new production.
“Aquila’s productions are beautifully spoken,
dramatically revealing and crystalline in effect.”

Started in 1974 as the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble,
the company embodies Mr. Ailey’s pioneering mission to
establish an extended cultural community that provides
dance performances, training and community programs
for all people. Under the artistic direction of Troy
Powell, Ailey II continues to thrive. Using AfricanAmerican spirituals, song-sermons, gospel songs and holy
blues-Revelations fervently explores the places of deepest
grief and holiest joy in the soul. This enduring classic is a
tribute to that heritage and to Ailey’s genius.
"...powerful and eloquent dancing characterize the company
in Ailey’s timeless tribute to humanity, faith and survival."

Leo Kottke is a 12-string acoustic
guitarist known for a fingerpicking style that draws on
influences from blues, jazz and folk music. His fans regard
him as one of the most important and influential acoustic
steel-string guitarists of the 20th century. In the more than 25
years that he has been composing, arranging and playing, his
Americana style has evolved to include classical and jazzoriented compositional and playing techniques, featured in
many acoustic guitar and orchestra concerts. Combined with
his dry wit and droll banter, an evening of musical eloquence
is guaranteed!
“…his fingerpicking became a beautiful machine…
Mr. Kottke’s forms are innovative and very modern – clever,
complicated reimaginings of American folk styles…”
