road with you, through the turns and winding pathways- if that happens for a short few yards, feet or miles, great. But if it doesn't, don't be upset-set realistic expectations. 5) Win friends and influence people- Dale Carnegie put it best so many years ago. If you can develop the ability to initiate a conversation with a total stranger and start a discussion and be interested before you can be interesting, you are on to something big. Keep at it. Work at it. Practice it. Apply it. Repeat it. 6) Planning, strategy and analysis is useless without execution. Take the first Step-Just Do It. You don't have to be right 100% of the time, just get to more bats and you will in time, hit a homerun. It is here that many people falter. No amount of preparation, planning and research will help, if you don't show up to the meeting. Show up and get er' done! 7) Care... care about others, not just about yourself. Reach out and cross the chasm-take the initiative and talk to that neighbor who you have seen over the years but have never spoken with- give out your hand and reach out. 8) Give someone a fish and you feed him once- teach him how to fish, and you feed him for life. Teach someone something- share your knowledge, time and skill- there is plenty to go around for everyone. Focus on abundance not scarcity. 9) Wake up early- start your day before the madness begins...I start my day at 5am while everyone else is still sleeping. I find the peace, tranquility and silence of the early morning, is the best time to get your thoughts going and to do your deep thinking. 10) Eat healthy and exercise regularly. While this seems obvious and basic, very few of us do this on a consistent basis. More on this later... 11) Pray 12) Be grateful, be thankful and show gratitude. You can always find someone that is doing better than you are, has a bigger home than you have or a bigger car/boat/golf cart/ any other toy, than you have- it is tempting and easy, to get into a spiral of constant comparison and yardstick based measurement. Be grateful- there are many folks who are much less fortunate than you are and have much less than you have. At the end of the day, we all go home.... Apologize for the long note, but there was a lot to talk about and share-thanks in advance for your attention. Until next time……… 20
